Our Journey
Named after the cave of the first revelation, Hera was established in 2002 by Mohammed Rahman in the heart of Hamtramck, Michigan. Inspired by the vibrant and growing Muslim community, Hera was created to be more than just a grocery store—it was envisioned as a space where Muslim families could find everything they need in one place, from fresh produce and premium halal meats to household essentials.
At Hera, our mission is rooted in serving the unique needs of American Muslims. We are dedicated to bringing diverse products from around the Muslim world, reflecting the cultural richness of our community while ensuring convenience and quality. By prioritizing authenticity and accessibility, we aim to be a cornerstone of the American Muslim experience, bridging cultures and creating connections through food and everyday essentials.
Keeping with our namesake we strive to be the focal point of serving the Muslim community at large. Our commitment goes beyond products; we are deeply invested in the well-being of our community. From supporting local initiatives to fostering inclusivity, Hera stands as a place where everyone feels represented and at home. As we grow, we remain devoted to our core mission: providing the Muslim community across the U.S. with the trusted, reliable, and welcoming shopping experience they deserve.
